About Black Pearl Mail: Black Pearl Mail is the global leader in smart-email technology - the company has reimagined email to make it an effective digital marketing channel by providing powerful end-to-end enhancement to the standard email experience and giving end-users valuable analytics and insights.   With offices in Wellington (head office), Auckland and Arizona, USA, the Black Pearl team is expert, agile and focused on supporting the rapid company expansion in 2022.   For more information visit the Role: The Accounts Assistant will be a key member of the office, responsible for day-to-day accounts processing and some general office support for the New Zealand offices.  This role reports to the Senior Finance Director and it could possibly be undertaken in reduced hours to support flexible working. Providing quality financial and operational support, your duties will include: 

  • Accounts payable 
  • Accounts receivable, administering the billing framework 
  • Credit card reconciliations 
  • GL reconciliations 
  • Responding to incoming customer accounts queries 
  • Preparing GST returns 
  • Processing intercompany transfers and reconciliations 
  • Commission and on-call calculations for payroll 
  • Processing employee expense claims 
  • Working with Customer Onboarding team to ensure a seamless customer experience from provisioning to billing   
  • Maintaining accurate financial information in registers and databases 
  • Assisting with month-end closure and reporting as required 
  • Office administration support as required

  • A strong working knowledge of Xero 
  • Sound experience using Excel 
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts role 
  • The ability to adapt to change well  
  • Confidence in own ability with a personable manner 
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain high levels of accuracy and quality 
  • The ability to prioritise work and work to strict time constraints 
  • Demonstrated proven self-management skills 
  • A strong work ethic and is reliable
